Bedtrick is very much alive: you or your local bookstore can order it from http://cuidono.com/Webber_Bedtrick.html

Until now this blog has focused on Shakespeare’s era. His favorite source for stories and metaphors was the Metamorphoses of the Roman poet Ovid, a collection of stories originating with the ancient Greeks. Ovid retells them, adding his own embellishments and choosing between versions.

My fiction is now moving into the era that inspired these tales, where the gods directly or indirectly influenced human lives: Bronze Age Greece, predating the Trojan War and classical Greece. Because they’re immortal, Greek gods can be more whimsical and irresponsible than can we, who face death. So much about this time fascinates, with latitude for creative imagination. For now I’m editing this novel and will return to the blog when finished, most likely retitled ‘From Shakespeare to Ovid’s Metamorphoses.’
